Why are there so many pictures of celebrities hiding one eye? It is definitely not random. In fact, the One-Eye sign has a profound meaning and proves an important fact about the powers that be. This article looks at the origins and the meaning of the unescapable One-Eye sign.
The One-Eye sign is one of the most recurrent themes on The Vigilant Citizen because it is also one of the most recurrent themes in mass media. In five years, Conor McGregor has transformed himself from an exciting prospect on the European MMA scene to the sportโs richest โ and most popular โ star. With a gift of the gab and a thunderous left hand, the Dubliner has exploded beyond the confines of the Octagon to become a mainstream sports celebrity. Today, every tweet from him makes a headline, every press conference draws millions of eyes, and every fight is capable of a spectacle that rivals anything the sport has ever seen.
As McGregorโs fame โ and bank account โ rose, so did the profiles of those closest to him. Characters such as coaches John Kavanagh & Owen Roddy, and training partners Artem Lobov & Charlie Ward, have all basked in the shine radiating from McGregorโs belts, Rolexes, and freshly waxed Bentleys.
But, while McGregorโs star has illuminated many at the SBG Ireland gym, there are some characters who, although they have been seen next to McGregor,remain largely in the dark. Beyond the cameraโs glare (most of the time) these acquaintancesof McGregor may be happy to stay out of focus. Theyโre people whose connections to a bloody Irish gang war are well documented.
However, there is no evidence to suggest McGregor has any involvement in their alleged offenses or any other facet of organized crime.The intimacy of McGregorโs relationships* with these reported gangland figures is largely unknown, but it canโt be denied that the โNotoriousโ Conor McGregor has been seen with some notorious individuals.
The Kinahan-Hutch Gang War: The Beginning
Since at least 2015 the Republic of Ireland โ and sometimes Spain โ has played host to a violent gang war between the Kinahan Cartel and the Hutch Gang. The feud has resulted in the deaths of at least 18 people. Over that same time, Conor McGregor has been pictured with a number of individuals who have links to this violent feud and the firms involved.
Christy Kinahan allegedly leads the Kinahan Cartel. He was born in 1958 and grew up in a tower block in St. Teresaโs Gardens in south central Dublin. According to the Irish Times he was arrested and convicted in the 1970s for burglary, car theft, breaking and entering, dealing in stolen goods, and forgery. The Times also reported that, in 1986, Kinahan was caught trafficking ยฃ117,000 ($154,000) worth of heroin and sentenced to jail for six years.
In jail Kinahan studied for a degree in French, declining early release so he could complete the program. He told a court he was a heroin addict who was trying to go straight and hoped that education would help him. Allegedly, Kinahanโs skills in the language have been put to use in communicating with North African drug traffickers (per The Irish Sun).
In 1998 Kinahan landed back in jail, with a four year sentence, after being found in possession of stolen travelersโ cheques worth ยฃ16,000 ($21,000). He was released from Portlaoise maximum security prison in 2001. He moved to Spain soon after.

In Marbella, Kinahan is alleged to have constructed an international drug smuggling ring, which sources narcotics (said to be mostly cocaine and cannabis) from Columbia and North Africa and directs them into Ireland, smuggled in containers of inexpensive foodstuffs. The Irish Sun names Kinahan as the single biggest supplier of drugs in Ireland. Itโs alleged that Kinahanโs cartel is also a major player in supplying narcotics to the UK, the Netherlands, and Oceania.
In 2008 a major drug bust in Kildare, Ireland drew Irish investigatorsโ to Kinahanโs suspected operation in sunny Spain. Around this time alleged hitman Paddy Doyle was killed in Marbella. He was traveling in a car with fellow Irishmen Gary Hutch (nephew of the Hutch Gangโs patriarch Gerry โThe Monkโ Hutch) and โFatโ Freddie Thompson, who Independent.ie have since named as a โright hand manโ to Daniel Kinahan (Christy Kinahanโs son).
Itโs rumoured that Hutch, Doyle, and Thompson were being sheltered by the Kinahans in Spain due to the Crumlin-Drimnagh feud that had erupted back in Dublin. That turf war, between young drug dealers, resulted in at least eight people being murdered. Independent.ie reported that it could have been Russian gangsters who targeted Doyle after a dispute in Spain, or possibly the Kinahans themselves. After Doyleโs murder, Spanish authorities joined their Irish counterparts in investigating Kinahanโs operation.
In 2010 Christy Kinahan and many of his associates were arrested in coordinated surprise raids in Ireland and Spain. โOperation Shovel,โ as the raids were called, also discovered over โฌ150 million ($175 million) in Kinahan connected properties in Ireland, Spain, Belgium, Dubai, South Africa, Brazil, and Cyprus. Kinahan was released without charge, thanks to a lack of direct evidence.
Kinahanโs former friend turned rival Gerry Hutch was born in 1963, in central Dublin. According to The Irish Examiner,Hutch began his criminal career at the age of 10, as part of a group of youths dubbed the Bugsy Malone Gang. Hutchโs alleged specialty was the โjump-overโ, where heโd reach over bank counters to grab cash and then run away.
Reportedly many of the Bugsy Malone Gang later died, victims of homicide and drug overdose. Hutch was able to avoid these fates while spending his time in and out of prison throughout the 1980s. After leaving jail in the mid-eighties he received his nickname, the โMonk.โ The title relates to an ascetic lifestyle Hutch is said to lead, influenced by his time spent in prison.
In 1998, Hutch established the Corinthians Boxing Club in Dublin and gave himself the role of treasurer. While he was watching the clubโs funds, the government was watching his. In 1999 Irelandโs Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) set its sights on Hutch. That agency deemed that Hutch had to pay over IRยฃ2 million ($3 million) in penalties for his suspected involvement in the Clonshaugh and Marino robberies. Hutch was able to reach a settlement with the state that allowed him to pay back IRยฃ1.2m ($1.8 million).
In the 2000s, Hutch took on the image of a reformed man who had gone straight. He was granted a taxi driving license and set up a limousine service called โCarry Any Bodyโ (a reference to the CAB that prosecuted him in the nineties). Hutch became known in Irish media for chauffeuring celebrities who visited Ireland, including Mike Tyson.

The Killings
The gangland war between Gerry Hutch and Christy Kinahan took root in 2014. It was at that time that a number of alleged Kinahan drug shipments were intercepted by Irish authorities. Independent.ie claimed thebusts were rare occurrences for the Kinahans and that, as a result, they started to suspect there was an informant in their midst.
Itโs thought that the Kinahans suspected Gary Hutch (Gerryโs nephew) was the man giving information to the police. Hutch had allegedly joined the cartel in 2008, making him a newcomer to the gangโs inner circle.
Normally, a suspected informant would be executed on-site. However, it has been theorized โ by Independent.ie among others โ that, because of Christy Kinahanโs friendship with Gerry Hutch, an alternative plan was put forward. Kinahan and Hutch representatives allegedly reached an agreement that meant Gary Hutch would be expelled from the gang and given a โฌ800,000 ($930,000) severance package. Hutch was also ordered to cease all activities in organized crime.
Despite the deal being reached, Gary Hutch was shot and killed at his apartment in Miraflores, Spain on September 24th, 2015. The killing has been described as โexecution-style.โ
James Quinn, a former boxer from Dublin and an alleged Kinahan associate, was found guilty in a Spanish court for his involvement in the murder. However, he was not accused of pulling the trigger. The Irish Sun reported that โFatโ Freddie Thompson, a suspected high-ranking Kinahan Cartel member โ and a former ally of Hutch (in the Crumlin-Drimnagh feud) โ is believed to have been behind the hit.
Less than a month after Gary Hutchโs death, his brother Derek Hutch was attacked in his prison cell in Mountjoy, Ireland. He survived and escaped another similar attack in December. Also in December, 2015 โ according to Independent.ie โ Gerry Hutch rejected an invitation from Christy Kinahan to meet and squash the feud.
After Hutch allegedly rebuffed Kinahanโs offer, he narrowly escaped a suspected assassination attempt in Lanzarote, Spain. Hutch had just left a pub on the island when two armed men wearing balaclavas stormed the premises looking for him.
Itโs believed that the target of the attack was Daniel Kinahan, Christy Kinahanโs son, who was present at the weigh-in, but had left before the shooting started.
Three days after the Regency hotel shooting, Eddie Hutch Sr., Gerry Hutchโs older brother, was shot dead in his home on the North Strand in Dublin. On March 23rd, 2016 Noel โKingsizeโ Duggan, one of Hutchโs friends, was shot and killed in his car in Ratoath, County Meath.

In May, 2016, Gareth Hutch, another nephew of Gerry Hutch, was killed in a parking lot outside his home in Dublin. The Irish Mirror quoted a source saying thatJohnathan Keogh โ a former bomb maker for the UK-designated terrorist organization New Irish National Liberation Army โ was paid by the Kinahans for the hit. Keogh and two others were put on trial for the murder and are currently awaiting verdicts
On January 20th, 2018 another one of Gerry Hutchโs nephews, Derek Hutch Coakley, was shot and killed. Hutch Coakley was shot in the head while he sat in a car outside of Cloverhill Prison in Dublin. Two Kinahan associates were later arrested on suspicion of murder.

Others killed between 2015 and 2018 include Martin OโRourke and Trevor OโNeill; both thought to have been the victims of mistaken identity. Kane McCormack, the son of Noel Kirwan, was also killed in 2017. One theory is that the Kinahan gang allegedly killed McCormack out of fear that he would seek revenge for his fatherโs slaying. Darren Kearns and David Douglas were murdered in 2015 and 2016. The Irish Sun reported that Kearns and Douglas were killed because the Kinahans believed they had once tried to kill a Kinahan member.
In 2012 Kinahan founded a boxing gym with close friend and former professional boxer Matthew Macklin, called Macklinโs Gym Marbella (MGM). The gym was like a โcultโ according to an โinsiderโ who spoke to the Irish Sun. In a few years MGM grew from being a simple gym to a management company and boxing promoter.
MTK represents dozens of professional boxers, including Carl Frampton and Jamie Conlan. In March of 2017, former IBF, WBA, WBO, & IBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury posted a selfie with Daniel Kinahan on Twitter. A few months later, in November of that year, MTK announced that they were working with Fury in an โadvisory roleโ as the boxer prepared to make a comeback from drug testing and medical issues.
MTK also manages MMA fighters. Their official website lists over 40 fighters on their roster. Among those are recent UFC headliner Darren Till โ who signed with MTK in December, 2017 โ former UFC fighters Viviane Pereira, Glaico Franca, & Maiquel Falcao, and recent Dana Whiteโs Tuesday Night Contender Series call-ups Sarah Frota & Taila Santos, as well as recent UFC signing Stefan Sekulic.
A loose connection between Conor McGregor and MTK involves Belfast-born boxer Michael Conlan. Conlan, who is represented by MTK, won a bronze medal at the London Olympics in 2012 and has since gone 8-0 in his pro career. For his pro debut, at Madison Square Gardens in New York on March 12th, 2017, Conlan was walked to the ring by McGregor.
When McGregor was gearing up to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the boxing ring last August, his MMA coach John Kavanagh unsuccessfully advocated for Michael Conlan and Paddy Barnes (another MTK fighter) to get on the under-card.

Shortly after his giant payday in a loss to Mayweather, McGregor was embroiled in controversy over an alleged bar fight at the Blackforge Inn in Dublin. News broke that the fighter may have struck a known associate of the Kinahan Cartel (who was later named as Graham โThe Wigโ Whelan) before being separated and removed from the premises. Irish crime reporter Paul Williams was quoted as saying McGregor could be in โvery serious dangerโ as a result.
Mayweather seized on the news to land another jab on his former opponent. Retweeting a headline that alleged a bounty had been put on McGregorโs head. Mayweather wrote, โI already fโed you up in 2017 now they about to fโk you up in 2018.โ

McGregor responded to Mayweatherโs tweet with a message stating, โI am the cartel.โ The Irish Examiner revealed that Daniel Kinahan also responded to Mayweatherโs tweet. On his private twitter he allegedly wrote: โNow now [Floyd Mayweather] should not believe all you read in the paper, must be looking for a rematch against [Conor McGregor]โ.
An โinsiderโ with the Irish Sun later stated that McGregor was โplaying upโ his row with the Kinahan gang because he found โthe whole thing funny.โ Before Mayweatherโs tweet, McGregor was also pictured on the front page of the Irish Daily Star partying with Whelan. Also pictured were convicted drug dealers Andrew Murray and Johnathan Murray.
David Byrne died after being shot six times during the Regency Hotel attack on February 5th, 2016. On February 22nd, 2016Independent.ie ran a photo showing Byrne and McGregor posing for a selfie believed to have been taken in 2015. That report revealed that McGregor and Byrne used to train together at Crumlin Boxing Club in Dublin. The Irish Sun reports that Byrne was a closely trusted lieutenant of Daniel Kinahan and was in charge of distributing drugs in Dublinโs inner south.

Crumlin Boxing Club head coach Philip Sutcliffe confirmed that McGregor and Byrne were at the club at the same time. โThey were in the boxing club together and they would have had a club relationship and then they went different ways and David would have went supporting Conor and watching him do his stuff,โ he said.
Byrne was described by Independent.ie as โbest palโ of Graham Whelan โ the man at the centre of McGregorโs reported Blackforge incident. That outlet also revealed that Byrne had escaped two previous attempts on his life. In 2002 he and his brother Liam were targeted by gunmen in Dublin and in 2009 a bomb was found under his car. After these incidents, Byrne is reported to have kept a low-profile, operating as a โlogistics manโ for the cartel.
In December 2017, Conor McGregor was pictured with another member of the Byrne family. This time it was Lee Byrne, nephew to the late David Byrne. The pictures of McGregor and Byrne were taken in Liverpool, England and featured both men standing on the hoods of rented Bentley cars (much to the dismay of the carsโ owners). The Irish Sun published a second picture of McGregor and Byrne โ which was undated โ and showed Byrne with an arm over McGregor. That outlet described Byrne as an 18-year-old car salesman who has traveled to the US to see McGregor fight.
Lee Byrne is the son of Liam Byrne (brother of the late David Byrne). In September 2018 Liam Byrne was subject of a raid by the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB). This coming after he had been named by Irelandโs High Court as the head of the Byrne organized crime group, a trusted associate of the Kinahan Cartel, and someone who was heavily involved with drug trafficking and violent crime. Liam Byrne is alleged to have moved up the ranks within the Kinahan Cartel when Christy Kinahan handed more power to his son Daniel.
Independent.ie reported that Liam and Sean McGovern (who was wounded in the Regency Hotel attack) set up LS Active Car Sales in 2013. CAB are reported to have found little evidence of Byrne and McGovern actually selling cars, and suspect the company was a front to launder money. A number of luxury cars were seized from Byrne by the CAB, along with lavish watches, jewelry, and a property in Crumlin.
At around 11:30am on March 26th, 2015, Kavanagh was sitting in his car on Church Avenue in Drumcondra, in Dublinโs north end, when another vehicle rammed him. After the collision, two gunman opened fire on Kavanagh. Herald.ie claimed that Kavanagh was a drug dealer in the Drimnagh area who worked under the Kinahan Cartel. That outlet reported that Kavanagh was allegedly killed by the Kinahans for skimming profits. A source told the Herald that Kavanagh owed the Kinahans โwell over โฌ1m.โ Kavanagh was reportedly paying back some of the funds he owed, but supposedly it wasnโt enough to save his life.
It has also been claimed that Kavanagh was killed by a team connected to Gary Hutch, who was still working for the Kinahan Cartel at the time.
Kavanaghโs brother Gerard โHatchetโ Kavanagh was murdered in September 2014, in Elviria, Spain โ close to Marbella. The Daily Mail reported that Kavanagh was the victim of a โhoneypotโ scheme, which lured him to the popular Harmons Irish bar to meet a mystery woman. At the bar Kavanagh was shot and killed by two masked men.
The Irish Sun has described Gerard Kavanagh as an โenforcerโ and โprimary debt collectorโ for the Kinahan Cartel. That outlet theorized that he was killed by Russian gangsters, who were offended when he tried to strong-arm them on debts owed to the Kinahans. Itโs also theorized that Christy Kinahan green-lit the killing to maintain his relationship with the Russians.
Gerard Kavanagh was the father of Jamie Kavanagh, a professional boxer signed to Golden Boy Promotions. As a child, Jamie Kavanagh belonged to Crumlin Boxing Club, where he trained with McGregor. The pair have been pictured together at least twice in recent years.
Jamie Kavanagh was at the Regency Hotel preparing to weigh-in on February 5th, 2016 when alleged Hutch Gang gunmen attacked. Kavanagh ran for his life when shots rang out. His scheduled fight with Antonio Joao Benito was called off. He hasnโt fought since.
Andrew Murray
No individuals with reported connections to organized crime have been photographed with Conor McGregor as often as Andrew Murray. Murrayโs twitter timeline is littered with pictures of him and the MMA star, dating as far back as 2014 (though some pictures appear to have been taken much earlier). McGregor has also uploaded images of himself with the Murray brothers on his Instagram account.
Murray โ along with his brother Jonathan โ have been described as โgangster brothersโ by The Irish Sun. The Sun has also reported that the Murray brothers are childhood friends of McGregor, and that Jonathan has 48 criminal convictions โ including four for drug dealing. Andrew Murray is listed as having 18 prior convictions, including drug possession with intent for sale or supply, theft, and forgery.
Soon after the โbus incident,โ Irelandโs Drugs and Organized Crime Bureau and Economic Crime Bureau raided a number of properties in Dublin. They arrested five men and one woman on suspicion of facilitating an organized crime gang and money laundering. The woman was found sleeping on a mattress stuffed with cash in a penthouse in Drumcondra. โฌ250,000 ($292,000) was recovered from that property. The raids were designed to interrupt a drug smuggling operation that allegedly exported cocaine from Ireland to Australia and New Zealand.
The Irish Sun quoted a source that said the leader of the gang targeted by police was โa close associate of Andrew and Jonathan Murray and they have been operating since 2012 both here and in Australia.โ
That source went further to state that the gangโs drug inventory was supplied by the Kinahan Cartel and that, โtheir role in Ireland is to supply cocaine to dozens of upper class and famous customers in the best nightclubs in the capital.โ
What does this all mean?
Conor McGregor has never been charged with an offense connected to organized crime. There is nothing to suggest that any of his connections to the figures mentioned above are anything more than social. McGregorโs early life on the hard streets of Crumlin put him in proximity to many criminal elements, but there is no evidence to suggest he was โ or ever has been โ involved in their criminal dealings.
The highest ranking member of the Kinahan Cartel pictured with Conor McGregor is the late David Byrne. Byrneโs connection to organized crime is widely discussed in the Irish press. Byrneโs connection to McGregor appears limited to training at a boxing club โ one that was an important landmark for many young men in Crumlin โ and a selfie taken one evening in 2015. It has been reported that Byrne was a fan of McGregor, and had traveled to watch him fight in Las Vegas.
McGregorโs only other known connection to the Byrne family is similar to his only known connection to the Kavanagh family; a single young member of the clan who is not reported to be involved in the criminal businesses of their fathers and uncles.
The closest bond McGregor appears to have with alleged underworld figures comes via the Murray brothers. The evidence of this closeness is based only on the sheer amount of publicly available pictures and social media posts that tout their friendship and place them in the same places at the same time. It has been reported that the Murrays have extensive criminal pasts. Their strongest reported connection to the Kinahan Cartel comes courtesy of an unnamed source in an Irish tabloid.
If reports in Ireland are to be believed, McGregor consistently has two degrees of separation between himself and any meaningful connection to the Kinahan Cartel and the bloody war they have waged against the Hutch Gang. Even so, the amount of names that can be tied to McGregor, albeit through a string of intermediaries, is cause for concern (as it would be for any professional athlete or celebrity). Based on McGregorโs messaging, heโs not worried about what others think regarding his alleged association with characters like the Murrays or the cartel. Time will tell if the UFC, its partners, and its fans, feel the same.

Charles Francis โChuckโ Dolan[2] (born October 16, 1926) is an American billionaire and the founder of Cablevision.[3][4] Through supervoting shares, Dolan today controls AMC Networks, MSG Networks, and The Madison Square Garden Company, which at one point were all part of Cablevision itself.
The son of an inventor, Dolan was born in Cleveland, Ohio.[5] He served in the U.S. Air Force and studied at John Carroll University, before dropping out and entering the telecommunications field.[5] His father, David, sold a patent to Ford Motor.[6]
Dolan is a trustee of Fairfield University and a member of the board of governors of St. Francis Hospital in Port Washington, New York.

The Colonnas are an ancient Roman family whose history began nine hundred years ago. The very first documented member of the family was Pietro who lived between 1078 and 1108 in the countryside South of Rome, close to the town of Colonna from which the House derived its name.
Up to the present day there have been no less than 31 generations of the Colonna family, the main branch of which established itself from the beginning of 1200 on the slopes of the Quirinal Hill.
It was during that period that the Colonnas built their residences in the area of the present day Piazza SS. Apostoli, which within a short time developed into a veritable fortress. By the beginning of 1600 this massive structure had transformed itself into a grand Roman palace, which from then until the middle of the 1700โs was continually being restored and enlarged. From then until now Palazzo Colonna provides an impressive testimony to the history of the family from its first very adventurous centuries to the glamour and refinement of the later Baroque period. The stamp of so many famous artists who have honoured the Palace with their talents is still very much in evidence today. The Colonna Gallery is the prime example of this, evoking as it does a feeling of awe and excitement in many of todayโs visitors.
Turning to important events of the family: the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries saw the first Colonna cardinals, Roman senators and military leaders who fought to assert and maintain the influence of the family during those turbulent times. In contrast there was also the mystical figure of Blessed Margherita (1255 โ 1280), a contemporary and follower of St Francis. She was later beatified by Pope Pius IX in 1848.
Named for her Orsini mother, Margherita Colonna was born in Palestrina, Lazio. Her father died when she was only two years old, and, when her mother followed eight years later, she was left in the care of her brothers โ one a Roman senator named Giovanni, the other a cardinal named Giacomo. It is said Margherita found religion on attending Mass for the first time after a long illness. As she prayed, she looked up at the priest and saw a white dove hovering in the air above him. Her piety was such that, despite her brothersโ attempts at finding her a husband, Margherita chose celibacy and retired to the Castel San Pietro to form her own community.
The Colonna were, at this point, arguably the richest, most powerful, family in central Italy. Margherita used her dowry and inheritance to support her charitable works. She deposited alms, restored family churches, and gave to those who most needed it, but discreetly so not to embarrass or draw attention to recipients. Her altruism was immeasurable and culminated, every year, with a feast in honour of St. John the Baptist for the poor and ill. It is said one year Christ and St. John themselves attended, disappearing when recognised. Margherita was held, unsurprisingly, in great esteem, and many began to follow her.
Margherita suffered with an ulcer for many years. When she finally died, she was lauded as a saint in all lands held by the Colonna family; her relics venerated in the Castelโs church. Unfortunately, the family fell out of favour in 1297, when Pope Boniface VIII accused Giacomo and his nephew, Pietro, of heresy and excommunicated them. He desecrated all ecclesiastical institutions associated with the Colonna, deposed their cardinals, and confiscated their ancestral properties. He had Margheritaโs shrine destroyed and her family barely managed to escape the Castel with her body.
Two notable biographies have been written about Margherita: the first by her brother, Giovanni; and the second by Stefania, a Calrissian Abbess who succeeded Margherita as the head of their community. In 1847, Margherita was beatified by Pope Pius IX. Where canonisation requires two attested miracles and allows veneration of individuals by the Catholic Church as a whole, beatification only requires one attested miracle, recognition of the deadโs entrance into Heaven, and their capacity to intercede on behalf of those who choose to pray in their name.
During the 15th century the most important person by far in the family was Oddone Colonna. He became Pope Martin V at the end of the dark period of the Great Schism of the West which had split the papacy between Avignon and Rome. For almost a century Rome had been in a state of crisis with a power vacuum provoking violent armed clashes between rival families, the foremost of which were between the Colonna and the Orsini. Such clashes involved Pope Boniface VIII of the Caetani family who was a bitter enemy of the Colonnas. This was when Sciarra Colonna was involved in a famous scuffle with the Pope in his home town of Anagni in which he struck him in public and which became known as the โSchiaffo di Anagniโ (The Anagni Slap). However this was not an isolated incident as it also involved various other pontifical vicars who succeeded one another from the time of the Avignonese popes and also those from the period of Cola di Rienzo, all of whom allied themselves to the Orsini and hence were enemies of the Colonnas. The two families ruled over not only their respective quarters in Rome but also two large rural areas around the city; the North dominated by the Orsini and the South by the Colonnas. Both areas were garrisoned by the respective families and they controlled the major roads into Rome; the Appia, Prenestina e Casilina by the Colonna and the Flaminia, Salaria and Cassia by the Orsini.
Pope Martin V again made Rome the Apostolic Seat initiating a programme of sorely needed law and order together with some serious reconstruction in this badly run down city. The Roman Renaissance had in Martin V a truly illustrious representative. He commissioned the restoration of the four principal Roman Basilicas giving them the same degree of attention that he gave to the reorganization of the various pontifical departments. He nominated as his residence Palazzo Colonna which therefore then become the Apostolic Seat for eleven years.
In the second half of the 1400โs the family was faced with another Pope allied to the Orsini, Pope Sixtus IV of the della Rovere family. Rome was again plunged into a climate of bitter clashes between the various factions which continued unabated right up to and into the pontificate of the Borgia Pope, Alexander VI. This turbulent period was finally brought to an end through the patience and prolonged mediation of another Pope of the della Rovere family, Julius II, when he brokered a peace treaty between the Colonna and the Orsini. This accord, known as the โPax Romanaโ(1511), finally concluded the bloody conflict between the two families which had lasted for more than two centuries. The heads of the two houses, Fabrizio I Colonna and Giulio Orsini, in the Popeโs presence and with representatives from the maximum number of the other noble families, solemnly swore to cease all hostilities. This binding pledge was signed and carried out in front of the altar and also included an agreement to forgive each other for all past offences.
The peace between the two families was cemented by the marriage between Marcantonio II Colonna and Felice Orsini. The parents of Marcantonio were Ascanio and Giovanna dโAragona, the niece of Emperor Charles V. Such an illustrious connection revealed its usefulness during โThe Sack of Romeโ when Imperial troops looted and set fire to whole areas of the city and put thousands to the sword. However during this prolonged pillage, Palazzo Colonna was not touched and in fact was able to offer asylum and protection to three thousand of its citizens including many Cardinals and the famous Isabella dโEste, Duchess of Mantua.
Ascanioโs sister was the poetess Vittoria Colonna. She was an intimate friend and muse of Michaelangelo and they had many meetings together at the Palace. They also exchanged letters and sonnets over a long period and it is clear she had a great influence on his work. So close was their friendship that Michaelangelo painted her in his famous Universal Judgment behind the altar of the Sistine Chapel. You can see her profile in the portrait of the woman above and to the right of Simone of Cirene, the one carrying the cross, close to the self-portrait of the painter.
The most prominent member of the family during that period was Marcantonio II, who crowned his adventurous life with the leadership of the Papal fleet at the famous battle of Lepanto against the Turkish fleet at which he triumphed. The subsequent prestige that this brought was rewarded by his nomination as Viceroy of Sicily by King Philip II of Spain.
One of the daughters of Marcantonio II and Felice Orsini was Costanza who befriended Caravaggio and became his protector from the very beginning and all through his rumbustious meteoric artistic career. During his time in Rome, Caravaggio was a frequent guest of palazzo Colonna and here he first sought refuge after his famous duel with Ranuccio Tomassoni which resulted in his opponentโs death. Costanza then organised his escape to Naples via a short stay at their Palace in Paliano just South of Rome.
During the course of the 1600โs the Colonnas consolidated their considerable influence in Rome and in the courts of both Spain and France. Filippo I, Cardinal Girolamo I and Lorenzo Onofrio, the husband of Maria Mancini Mazzarino, all contributed to the extension of important family connections through friendship, as opposed to what had previously been achieved through recourse to arms. This century also saw the restoration of the familyโs palaces; a large expansion of their various collections; a greater use of the art of diplomacy and their important patronage of many artists.
There was also a renewed emphasis on โarranged marriagesโ, a shrewd policy that linked the family to a series of other illustrious houses. At the same time the Colonnas consolidated their faithful and loyal ties to the Holy See, now no longer hindered by those frequent violent forays and their Imperial bias of the past centuries.
This century also saw the complete restoration and transformation of Palazzo Colonna into a sumptuous Roman residence along with the construction of its magnificent Galleria Colonna.
In the 1700โs the most influential family members included: Fabrizio II, husband of Caterina Zeffirina Salviati who gave birth to no less than sixteen children. Amongst them were two future cardinals: Marcantonio and Pietro and their first born, Lorenzo II, who married Marianna dโEste. They together with their son Filippo III lived through another period of great change in the history of the family. Filippo once more took the necessary steps relevant at this time to maintain the influence and power of the family. He married Caterina Savoia Carignano and strengthened ties with both France and Spain. He was a faithful and loyal advisor to both Pope Pius VI and Pius VII, supporting them during the difficult period of the Napoleonic occupation of both the Pontifical State and Rome. He helped Pius VI militarily and gifted buildings to Pius VII for use as barracks. The ones in Rome were in Piazza della Pilotta next to Palazzo Colonna and they became the Gregorian University in 1930. Another was the castle at Paliano which later became a prison.
During the 1800โs we meet three brothers, sons of Giovanni Andrea Colonna and Isabella Alvarez de Toledo, who well illustrate the familyโs vitality. The first born, Marcantonio, entered the service of the Holy See during the long pontificate of Pius IX in another difficult period which led up to the famous battle of Porta Pia in 1870. His brother, Fabrizio, was a cavalry general and Senator of the Kingdom of Italy and entered Rome with a troop of Savoy cavalry. Full of Catholic fervour, he represented the more liberal spirit of the family. The youngest brother, Prospero, became an administrator, entering local politics and was mayor of Rome for three terms of office. Together they started a new direction for the family, less formal and more in tune with the new social order of those changing times.
Among the many illustrious family members in the 20th century, the sons of Fabrizio and Olympia Doria Pamphilj merit special mention. One was Ascanio who was the Italian Ambassador in Washington during the Second World War and to whom fell the unenviable task of giving the despicable declaration of war by our country to President Roosevelt. On the same day he resigned his post, not wishing to represent the Kingdom of Italy and its reckless government. The other was Marcantonio who married Isabelle Sursock of Lebanese origin in 1908.
Donna Isabelle, as she then became known, occupied a prime position amongst the รฉlite of Roman Society throughout her long life up to the 1980โs. She was a lady of great intelligence and power who defended and jealously guarded the artistic collection of the family through the darkest periods of both of the two World Wars. She and her husband were intensely loyal to the Holy See, so much so that she was given the rare honor of Vatican citizenship. She never abandoned โherโ Palace that she so profoundly loved and where she wove her diplomatic skills at the highest level, receiving Heads of State and Royalty from half the world. Narrowly escaping arrest by the Neofascists, she continued to always keep uppermost the interests and image of the family to which she was so proud to belong.
Through her vision and dedication, Palazzo Colonna was conserved and restored to its former glory and the family owes a profound debt of recognition to this great lady. She also instilled in both her children and grandchildren their great responsibility for its preservation. Her personal stamp on the Palace is seen especially in two splendid apartments dedicated to her: the Princess Isabelle Apartment and the Gallery Apartment. These are open to the public on Saturday mornings or privately on request every day of the Year.
The House of Colonna, also known as Sciarrillo or Sciarra, is an Italian noble family, forming part of the papal nobility. It was powerful in medieval and Renaissance Rome, supplying one pope (Martin V) and many other church and political leaders. The family is notable for its bitter feud with the Orsini family over influence in Rome, until it was stopped by papal bull in 1511. In 1571, the heads of both families married nieces of Pope Sixtus V. Thereafter, historians recorded that โno peace had been concluded between the princes of Christendom, in which they had not been included by nameโ.
According to tradition, the Colonna family is a branch of the Counts of Tusculum โ by Peter (1099โ1151) son of Gregory III, called Peter โde Columnaโ from his property the Columna Castle in Colonna, in the Alban Hills. Further back, they trace their lineage past the Counts of Tusculum via Lombard and Italo-Roman nobles, merchants, and clergy through the Early Middle Ages โ ultimately claiming origins from the Julio-Claudian dynasty and the gens Julia whose origin is lost in the mists of time but which entered the annals for the first time in 489 BC with the consulship of Gaius Julius Iulus.
The first cardinal from the family was appointed in 1206, when Giovanni Colonna di Carbognano was made Cardinal Deacon of SS. Cosma e Damiano. For many years, Cardinal Giovanni di San Paolo (elevated in 1193) was identified as a member of the Colonna family and therefore its first representative in the College of Cardinals, but modern scholars have established that this was based on false information from the beginning of the 16th century.
Giovanni Colonna (born c.โ1206) nephew of Cardinal Giovanni Colonna di Carbognano, made his solemn vows as a Dominican around 1228 and received his theological and philosophical training at the Roman studium of Santa Sabina, the forerunner of the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas, Angelicum. He served as the Provincial of the Roman province of the Dominican Order and led the provincial chapter of 1248 at Anagni. Colonna was appointed as Archbishop of Messina in 1255.
Margherita Colonna (died 1248) was a member of the Franciscan Order. She was beatified by Pope Pius IX in 1848.

At this time, a rivalry began with the pro-papal Orsini family, leaders of the Guelph faction. This reinforced the pro-Emperor Ghibelline course that the Colonna family followed throughout the period of conflict between the Papacy and the Holy Roman Empire. Ironically according to their own family legend, the Orsini are also descended from the Julio-Claudian dynasty of ancient Rome.
In 1297, Cardinal Jacopo disinherited his brothers Ottone, Matteo, and Landolfo of their lands. The latter three appealed to Pope Boniface VIII, who ordered Jacopo to return the land, and furthermore hand over the familyโs strongholds of Colonna, Palestrina, and other towns to the Papacy. Jacopo refused; in May, Boniface removed him from the College of Cardinals and excommunicated him and his followers.
The Colonna family (aside from the three brothers allied with the Pope) declared that Boniface had been elected illegally following the unprecedented abdication of Pope Celestine V. The dispute led to open warfare, and in September, Boniface appointed Landolfo to the command of his army, to put down the revolt of Landolfoโs own Colonna relatives. By the end of 1298, Landolfo had captured Colonna, Palestrina and other towns, and razed them to the ground. The familyโs lands were distributed among Landolfo and his loyal brothers; the rest of the family fled Italy.
The exiled Colonnas allied with the Popeโs other great enemy, Philip IV of France, who in his youth had been tutored by Cardinal Egidio Colonna. In September 1303, Sciarra and Philippโs advisor, Guillaume de Nogaret, led a small force into Anagni to arrest Boniface VIII and bring him to France, where he was to stand trial. The two managed to apprehend the pope, and Sciarra reportedly slapped the pope in the face in the process, which was accordingly dubbed the โOutrage of Anagniโ. The attempt eventually failed after a few days, when locals freed the pope. However, Boniface VIII died on 11 October, allowing France to dominate his weaker successors during the Avignon papacy.
The family remained at the centre of civic and religious life throughout the late Middle Ages. Cardinal Egidio Colonna died at the papal court in Avignon in 1314. An Augustinian, he had studied theology in Paris under St. Thomas of Aquinas to become one of the most authoritative thinkers of his time.
In the 14th century, the family sponsored the decoration of the Church of San Giovanni, most notably the floor mosaics.
In 1328, Louis IV of Germany marched into Italy for his coronation as Holy Roman Emperor. As Pope John XXII was residing in Avignon and had publicly declared that he would not crown Louis, the King decided to be crowned by a member of the Roman aristocracy, who proposed Sciarra Colonna. In honor of this event, the Colonna family was granted the privilege of using the imperial pointed crown on top of their coat of arms.
The poet Petrarch, was a great friend of the family, in particular of Giovanni Colonna and often lived in Rome as a guest of the family. He composed a number of sonnets for special occasions within the Colonna family, including โColonna the Glorious, the great Latin name upon which all our hopes restโ. In this period, the Colonna started claiming they were descendants of the Julio-Claudian dynasty.

At the Council of Constance, the Colonna finally succeeded in their papal ambitions when Oddone Colonna was elected on 14 November 1417. As Martin V, he reigned until his death on 20 February 1431.
In 1728, the Carbognano branch (Colonna di Sciarra) of the Colonna family added the name Barberini to its family name when Giulio Cesare Colonna di Sciarra married Cornelia Barberini, daughter of the last male Barberini to hold the name and granddaughter of Maffeo Barberini (son of Taddeo Barberini).
The Colonna family have been Prince Assistants to the Papal Throne since 1710, though their papal princely title only dates from 1854.

The Colonna family of Rome work closely with the Orsini family and are also involved with pharmaceuticals. Stefano Colonna developed the Julia-Colonna Epoxidation which is used by Bayer and Evonik today. The Julia-Colonna Epoxidation is used for binding toxic chemicals with human enzymes. The connections with movies and numbers is part of their Kabbalah and occult communications. There are a lot of connections involving zombies that I did not include in this that they incepted into society. They wanted to push this agenda to the point of quarantining towns and then destroying them and they plotted this for March of 2016. The Alban clans likely settled in Salamanca during Pope Alexander IIIโs reign around 1175 when they built Roman cathedrals. They evolved the name Alba to Alva creating the name Alvarez which is a popular Spanish name. The House of Alba are intermarried with the Scottish House of Stuart and their cadet branch the House of FitzJames. This makes them related to the House of Windsor and House of Spencer through their Scottish lineage and that is why they often use the name Stuart like Don Carlos Fitz-James Stuart. They are related to the Colonna family who have a portion of ownership over the Holy See and the FitzJames-Alba family are Dukes in Spain under the House of Bourbon. All of these connections make them very high level. Fernando Alvarez de Toledo 3rd Duke of Alba was also Governor of Milan and Viceroy of Naples and during his rule he made an agreement with the Pope known as the Treaty of Cavo which returned the town of Cavo, Lazio to the Colonna family after the Della Rovere Pope had seized it from them. The House of Alba de Tormes is covertly serving the Colonna family even as Dukes in Spain. They have a harp on their coat of arms which refers to an authority over HAARP which is used for mind control in society. In ancient times they used harps and poems for subtle mind control over populations. The harps and poems were designed to put people into a trance. The USAFโs HAARP system is named in reference to their ancient harp mind control.
Columbia University graduate Deborah Lee James was Secretary of the USAF until the recent Trump Administration and she was an agent of the House of FitzJames and Dukes of Alba. She likely appointed their agents to run their HAARP system which they still have some authority over. Members of the criminal House of FitzJames Alba include Don Carlos Fitz-James Stuart, 19th Duke of Alba and Don Fernando Fitz-James Stuart, 15th Duke of Huescar. While researching for my articles I usually check out the BBC, the CNN and the Hebrew media. Not because they can be trusted, but because information appearing there would be hard to deny by the publishers: Walsinghamian governments. Today, I searched for โJonathan Pollardโ in the BBC, and got an article from May 12, 1998, named โIsrael admits it spied on USโ (probably any โusโ would be true). The interesting point is that the article featured a picture subtitled โJonathan Pollard with Israeli communications minister Limor Livnat who visited him in prison.โ The picture was gone. Apparently it had turned unpleasant for Limor Livnat and was removed.
It wasnโt the first time I find retroactive changes in the BBC (probably tomorrow theyโll return the picture to prove me wrong). The most awesome page I saw there was when they redesigned their โHistoryโ page a few years ago; on the otherwise blank page they put a message saying โHistory is being rewritten, we apologize for the inconvenience.โ
I was less amused when I turned to Wikipedia and searched for โPollard.โ I got a disambiguation page with several options. Of course โJonathan Pollardโ wasnโt there. Only by clicking on โPeople Named Pollard,โ the most famous Pollard, Jonathan, appeared. Somebody is really working hard to make articles on, and pictures of, Jonathan Pollard hard to find. History is being rewritten in front of our eyes.

I care very little about Mark Zuckerbergโs formal statistics; he was born โ at least in spirit โ in 1984. On September 2010, he gave an interview to the Oprah Winfrey Show. Among other things he suggested not to talk about politics or religion.

The American judging him – Judge William H. Pauley III – said: “Why it took the government 23 years to charge Mr. Kadish is shrouded in mystery.”
About the same time, Victor Ostrovsky in his book By Way of Deception described the issue of worldwide Jewish-Israeli espionage extensively. For those still in doubts, it is worth reminding that the Kennedy administration ordered the American Zionist Council โ AIPACโs predecessor โ to register as an agent of the Israeli government under the Foreign Agents Registration Act on November 21, 1962. The answer led to the dismantling of the former and the foundation of AIPAC. The same whore, though now wearing a new dress.
In 1992, AIPAC President David Steiner was forced to resign after he was recorded saying: โI met with (then Bush U.S. Secretary of State) Jim Baker and I cut a deal with him. In 2005, AIPAC policy director Steven Rosen and AIPAC senior Iran analyst Keith Weissman were fired by the organization due to an FBI investigation into whether they passed classified U.S. information received from Franklin to the government of Israel. In parallel, the US Justice Department announced that Lawrence Anthony Franklin, a U.S. Air Force Reserves colonel working as a DoD analyst at the Pentagon, had been arrested and charged by the FBI with providing classified national defense information to Israel. The criminal complaint identified AIPAC by name and described a meeting in which, Franklin disclosed top-secret information to two AIPAC officials. Franklin pleaded guilty to passing government secrets to Rosen and Weissman and revealed for the first time that he also gave classified information directly to an Israeli government official in Washington. He was sentenced to 151 months in prison and fined.

Given this background, the life story of Mark Zuckerberg looks slightly different from what mainstream media claims. A Bar Mitzvah is the formal acceptance of Judaism from those born into Jewish families. It isnโt a familiar obligation, but an act of choice. Growing up in a Communist Kibbutz, I must tell that only a minority of its kids chose to participate in such a questionable event. Yet, Mark was happy to participate.

Then, Harvard students Cameron Winklevoss, Tyler Winklevoss, and Divya Narendra accused Zuckerberg of intentionally making them believe he would help them build a social network called HarvardConnection.com (later called ConnectU); in such a way, Mark Zuckerberg stole the technology that allowed him to build Facebook.
One could claim that Mossad wanted to get formal access HarvardConnection.com technology. It is useful for monitoring and controlling social networks, as I recently discovered after opening a Facebook account. Spotting Zuckerberg as a cooperative individual wasnโt hard. Giving him an informal tip on how to break into Harvardโs computers was even easier. Explaining him how to trick out the technology from Cameron Winklevoss, Tyler Winklevoss, and Divya Narendra โ non of them would have cooperated with Mossad โ was also easy. Afterwards, the marketing of Facebook against other social media networks was easy due to the Harvard connection, everybody wanted to share the splendor.
Facts speak for themselves: Zuckerberg stole technology in a method not unknown to Mossad. It belongs to the most faithful recruitment base of that organization. Let me ask you, Mr. Zuckerberg: are you Mossad?
